Hungary was joined to the Central European flora-mapping program (Ehrendorfer – Hamann, 1965; Niklfeld, 1971, 1975, 1994)in 1972. Organizational background and financial conditions of the Hungarian Flora Mapping Programme was ensured by the project called “Survey and comparative assessment of Hungary’s natural botanical heritage” (NKFP 0050/3B/2002) and Institute of Botany and Nature Conservation of the University of Sopron. The purpose of the Hungarian Flora Mapping database is to present the distribution pattern of Hungarian flora and open the door to improve the dataset. Data submit option gives opportunity for further supplying of data to anybody.
